When someone says something is going to be hard work or have to work I hate it, or at least find it discouraging. I don't like feeling this way, I hate the fact that these are the first thoughts that pop into my head, but it just happens so organically that I don't know what to do.

Habits are hard to change. In fact I think it's one of the most difficult things in life. I get discouraged too. Maybe you could try to break it down into smaller steps that aren't so hard. There's an old sailing term my professor taught me in college, it's "steady as she goes..." he told me to take things one step at a time and not think about the entire journey or project too much. Steady as you go!

I read a study recently that said humans are lazy by nature, not in a negative sense, but it's natural not to want to exert much effort especially when the task is no fun, but the study also kinda concluded that it's why we strive to make things more efficient and easier for us, hence our innovations
