I'm not. But I read vital's Thread about this & I am curious. So I'm posting this reply in hopes of reading other members' replies.

I have been doing SNAP CLUB when I think of it, and it really works. I don't actually snap my fingers but just say "Snap!" silently to myself. However, it does take commitment and a conscious effort, or I forget to do it. When I do it, SNAP CLUB really helps to override my anxiety.

PC member: "Vital" recently wrote a long Thread regarding Snap Club. If you go to Vital's listing of Threads posted, you should be able to find it. It will give you a thorough understanding of what it's about.

In a nutshell it is based on the theory that depression and anxiety are caused by giving up one's ability to make decisions in one's life. The idea is to snap your fingers and make a decision to do something, anything. It doesn't matter what. I am not very good at snapping my fingers so I just think Snap! in my head. When I remember to do this it seems to be very positive and productive. One day I said Snap! I'm gonna call my best friend (long distance) and I did. We had a great conversation and she was glad to hear from me. It was a call I had been putting off because I felt like I had nothing good to say. But my friend was just happy to hear from me. Hundreds of little Snaps can add up. I have gotten out of the habit of doing things spontaneously that may result in happiness. I think Snap! is brilliant because it helps us reconnect on so many levels. It's something you have to consciously practice, though, like mindfulness.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
