Due to recent events that are for the most part beyond my control I am now completely motivated to buckle down and get her done. There is still a lot of work to be had but it has become urgent that we NOT put off this move past July 30th so that means 6 days a week 4 hours a day I am all over this thing. This week it's the mound in my bedroom and next week it's the walk in closet and from there things should be a lot easier as we pack up each room like the kitchen, the den, the bathrooms...etc..

We move July 30th but due to recent events I want to be ready to move by mid July if not sooner. The quicker we pack up and leave the state the better, emotionally and even physically. So I need help staying motivated to remain at this high level and just get her done already.

So my cheating first step wasn't as big as I wanted. "But mom" she says "I'm only in a one bedroom apartment". I so love being a you store it place, not. So the truck will not be full but we have a big cat structure, a dresser, 3 totes, air conditioner, vacuum, bread maker and her pod coffee maker to name a few. But we all no cheaters never prosper so it is my own fault for thinking we could take more.

BlueEyedMama how goes your packing and organizing?

Dorms are pretty small. Once she moves to an apartment you can give her back all her stuff, my parents did that and it forced me to consolidate.

growlycat she is out of dorms and finished school finally. The only thing that is saving her from a huge dump of all her stuff is that we would have to rent a trailer and help carry it up all those stairs.

My health has been not great and I was forced on bed rest for awhile. So I got very discouraged but yesterday afternoon I pushed past the pain and did 3 hours in our bedroom. I am proud of that and although today is just as bad pain wise I plan on doing at least 2 hours in the bedroom. The thing about de-cluttering and sorting through stuff is the house actually gets messier from piles of stuff to be packed, tossed or donated. I am so not looking forward to the landlord being in our faces once notice is given tomorrow but that is beyond my control so I am trying not to stress over it. Moving is a majorly stressful as it is so don't need to be adding to it.

That you for your replies and I hope all is well with the chores/goals that you are doing.

*hugs*

I got my work for the day done in the morning today since I have afternoon appointments. It finally seems like I am making a dent which is encouraging. It's slow going but it's going and I am feeling more comfortable with the July 31 move out date.

Hubby has continued working towards the move but I was put on bed rest earlier this week due to health issues. Today is the first day I am cleared to do much so I have a goal of putting in 2 hours of work 30 minutes at a time. It's frustrating because were I healthy I could get our room and closet done in a day but instead it has dragged on forever. We are making progress though with hubby packing up the other rooms. The moving PODS come on Wednesday so we have a lot to do before then. We have now made 15 trips to good will and probably have another 5 left to go. We are getting rid of 75% of our belongings including our beds and couches. The good news is that we have the PODS for 10 days to load up at our leisure which sure beats renting a Uhaul and doing everything in one day and driving 1,800 miles. The PODS will be shipped there and held in storage until we find a place to live.

Well, that is it for now. We have a busy weekend planned of cleaning and packing. I'll update on how it's all going on Monday.
Thanks for this!

So far today has been super productive if you consider that I had two medical appointments to deal with. I managed to work 2 hours on the bedroom and it is looking much much better. I just took a break and now I am back at it. I think that I can get the bedroom finished clutter and clean wise in another 90 minutes. I am also doing a boat load of laundry of clothes, towels, bedsheets you name it I am washing it.

Tomorrow I attack the dreaded closet and all that entails plus we are going to make like our 500th trip to Goodwill. Boy oh boy when Hubby said we are getting rid of 75% of our crap-ola he sure meant it. It is very cleansing and makes me feel lighter to unload so much stuff.

Okay enough updating time to go finish the bedroom. I am feeling pretty good physically today so it is a good time to push through it and get it done.

We are most likely moving our move date up by a few days due to a family member having major surgery which means working our tails off to be ready in time. The PODS arrive tomorrow. I only have a few boxes packed but hubby has been doing a good job packing up the kitchen and such while I deal with our bedroom and closet. Speaking of the dreaded closet it is an absolute mess. Mouse poop everywhere and storage bags chewed to shreds. I put on a mask and gloves and worked on it for an hour. I made some headway but not much which is frustrating but I promised myself that I would get it at least half done so after this 30 minute break I'll be back at it. Taking a break with the fan directly on me feels good as does drinking cold water. If I could snap my fingers and make the closet clean I would in an instant. I totally want to take a shower right now but I reckon I should wit until I am done working today.

The closet is my only real goal other than fold all the laundry I washed and cook dinner. I am exhausted from just one hour thanks to health issues but I know that I can power through it and so off I go to enjoy the last moments of my break and then back to the chain gang.
Thanks for this!

Wow sounds like you have had a very busy couple of days. I keep twitching my nose but nothing happens around here. Well other than my family giving me funny looks.

Today is do or die with the walk in closet. I am doing things on hour at a time to pace myself. Today is not fun still facing what seems like a mt. Everest of poop and shredded paper, boxes, clothes. BIG lesson learned never ignore a storage space for two years. Out of sight out of mind I guess. Never again.

Tomorrow is get the car oil changed and finish packing all boxes with some goodwill trips sprinkled in there. Monday we move furnature and heavier items into the second pod. So that's my next few days in a nutshell.
Thanks for this!

thanks for the cool pic and kind words. Things have been nuts and will only get more so AS the week moves along. We are biting off much more than we can chew but it's all we can do at this point. Things feel like they are going at a snail's pace and yet Friday will be here before we know it which is a huge mixture of overwhelming AND fear.

The boys are up I had best go start my day.

Bless to all.

I have been hanging in as I battle kidney issues and have been in and out of the hospital as we try to finish moving into our home. We are here now and love the house just wish that those darn boxes would unpack themselves lol.

My goals are baby steps to be honest since I have to really put my health first after having been in ICU again last week. So slow is how I roll. I hope to do an hour of unpacking a day and get it done slowly but surely.
