here is what i think about it:

you read something. if you get a feeling- a good one of course, or it makes you understand womething new- but ESPECIALLY if it made you FEEL- this is your starting point!

an article or whatever you read-if it leaves you indifferent then it`s not for you.

the feeling is far more valuble than the statment itself, try to investigate this feeling, is it familiar to you? when the last time you felt it? why?

and MOST IMPORTANT :FOLLOW this feeling, do what you feel like doing when you have it, follow it, let it LEAD you and learn to make this feeling-by reading the article/statment, relaxing, hiking, etc.

this special feeling can be one of the keys for redemption!

Hi, Lady,
Yes, I've had a whole library of self-help books over the years, and read and re-read many of them when I needed help and insight....often even memorizing passages to help with certain problems. I no longer have to do this and have lightened my library considerably since moving to this new residence, giving away many books, etc.
I think what I managed to do over many years of reading and research was to integrate the passages which were meaningful and helpful.

yeah, i have a library of self-helps books, too. i memorize passages, and still can't remember. i took so much notes that i couldn't even manage all those notes i took. lol. i wonder if the self-help trend created another problem? lol, i'm not saying anything bad about it, since it helped in a lot of areas in my life.

That's why I like "workbooks" where I have to do assignments and answer questions, etc. The stuff I figure out working through them seems to stay around.

This is one of my favorites: http://www.mcwilliams.com/books/books/life1/lf1_4a.htm
