I'm seriously thinking about doing this over the Christmas break and extending it to my house next year

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeands...om-marie-kondo

Because my weight has fluctuated due to mess, I hang on to a lot of clothes I probably won't get into but can't bear to let go because I want to believe I could still be young and skinny again.

Has anyone tried her approach and how was it?

I've been doing my own method of discarding stuff. I can't bear to part with some designer clothes, even though I'll probably never wear them again. The rest I donate. Even if you do shrink back into them again, styles change. So let it go, let it go...

Yes I have done it. Also, can be done on ongoing basis. It will be great the next time I move to know exactly what I have and need. I think it is okay to keep some favorite clothes. I just got rid of things that I didn't feel very connected with, and it has worked out well. I am a big konmari fan. Tish has a good point that if you lose weight you'll probably want to shop for new, trendier clothes.
