I'm working towards my goal but I don't have much support.
1. My therapist thinks that if I have to diet too much to lose weight then it is not worth the pain and I should just give up. She is not very helpful in rooting me on. 2. I can't tell my father because he doesn't even want to imagine me overweight and he cannot imagine me changing my problems through sheer willpower. He can only imagine things that I have already accomplished. As in he has no imagination at all. 3. Coworkers prefer to just go with the flow: if your body wants you to be thin then be thin, but if your body wants you to be fat then don't fight it. Since I am definitely fighting it, they seem to think I am going too far. I wish someone would just compliment me on my willpower and lost pounds. Don't I deserve it more since I have a high willpower? |

![]() Secondly, no, higher willpower does not make one more deserving than another. Additionally, healthy eating and exercise are things we should be doing for our own good health, and need not necessarily be recognized by outside parties. Remember, this is for you. Be proud of yourself and content in that, don't expect praise because it will just lead to disappointment. I hope your aim is for a healthy weight and that you are going about this in healthy way. ![]() |

Yes. Weight is very subjective to the person who sees it the way they want to see it...my own family has a wide variety of different genes despite their being so much thinner and taller than I am...so don't use comparisons or opinions of other people...they don't have your size or your health!

If losing weight makes you feel good, then do it.
