Does anyone use the "________ for Dummies" books? I'm getting ready to go through Dieting for Dummies see what I can learn, written by a registered dietitian who owns a cooking school in Vermont :-)

I have some of the computer books for dummies, like "Windows XP for Dummies." I have found that sometimes the computer books are too superficial and I actually need more detail and depth, but they are really good when you truly are a know-nothing or are just starting on a topic.
Sky, I am interested in Reiki For Dummies. Is it like a self-help book, or an informational book on Reiki? A longtime friend of mine died earlier this year of lymphoma. He saw a Reiki master for several years to help with his illness. She spoke at his memorial service and I was really impressed/intrigued. I would like to learn more.

I hate some of the concepts/titles. I've seen "Investing for Dummies" and my first, kneejerk reaction is that if you're "dumb" you shouldn't be investing or fooling around with your money :-) And some of them, I can't imagine who has high enough self esteem to buy? "Dating for Dummies"? Reminds me of "Dumb and Dumber." :-)
