I could be in a town house or condo. Before I broke I was preapproved for a mortgage, I had my 401k to put down, i was only working temporary and worried about finances so I didn't even look for a place. I once had excellant credit.

Again reflecting on my life. I really need to start making wise decisions. Dbt is helping me do that, but man I wish I was in dbt 15 years ago. My whole life would be different. I never would have lived with mom. Would still have my kids. Maybe even still be married.

I will own again. It's my retirement plan.

Unfortunately we can't change the mistakes or retrace stumbled steps we have made in our lives. But making new dreams and implementing plans to realise them can soften our heartache. Owning a place to call ones own is a beautiful dream...and I wish you all the best moving forward Aviza.

Focus on making tomorrow what you want. No sense in lamenting over things you can't change, but everyday can be better today and going forward. Make the best of what you have.

I applied to a mortgage today. Was denied but got good information on what I need to do to qualify. Might just buy instead of rent. But I'll see how things go. Haven't been in my job long enough he said.

So I can keep working on building my credit. He also said need to wait longer from bankruptcy. Reapply in 4 to 6 months. I'm thinking a year and a half will be better. Saw a place I really want but there will be other places.
