Yay! I just had a great hygiene appointment, particularly compared to my last one. The hygienist was surprised and asked if I'd been flossing daily. She said my teeth were really clean. The cleaning was really quick and I had almost no bleeding. Now I just have one spot on my gums that is a bit itchy. The dentist said that should clear up with time and continued flossing. So I really have motivation to continue with the flossing and trying to improve my brushing.

I am so happy for you! Isn't it great when our efforts bear fruit? Yes, now you have new motivation to continue with the flossing! And brushing, that will come with time. You are seeing already that flossing is enough to earn compliments on how clean your teeth are.

Yesterday I did not have time for that because I came home too late from a concert, ate and went to bed, but today I brushed for the second time when I returned from work.

Thanks.
Brushed once, and flossed twice yesterday - once before my hygiene appointment and once before bed as I didn't want to interrupt my nightly routine. Now to add brushing in. I think I'm going to sign up another 5 day Tiny Habits program for that, as it seems to really help me. |

Way to go.
Flossed and brushed yesterday. I'm finding the 5 day Tiny Habits program helpful. I was really tired yesterday and didn't want to take the time to brush, but I really wanted to report that I'd done it, so I forced myself to. |

I flossed and brushed yesterday.
Question for the group. Are Crest Whitestrips safe for your teeth? My teeth are pretty discoloured from years of coffee, diet coke, wine etc. and I'd like to try whitening them. Just not sure how safe Whitestrips are for your teeth. Part of me feels like they can't be a good idea. Thanks. |

I do not know but I have heard that the only thing that can actually whiten your teeth is a treatment performed by a dentist. I am afraid that everything over-the-counter is a waste of time and money.

This just shows how much we are thinking of this stuff: I had a dream about my dentist, about going to have a cleaning at her office. It was so funny! In the dream, she is a dyed blonde. In reality, she has black hair, colored by now I am sure. So I tell her in the dream: blonde now? And she says yes. And she tells me that my teeth look good and gives me the weirdest kind of recommendation: to go out and drink with my girlfriends (something I never do) once a week to see if my teeth can keep up with that. It was so funny. I was amused when I woke up and realized that it was a dream.
Brushed for the second time today. Used https://www.amazon.com/Boka-Nano-Hyd...09XSNNMPC?th=1 except I bought mine direct from the company and I think it is cheaper that way than on Amazon. Splitimage, I much recommend this tasty toothpaste to diversify your brushing routine, as long as you also brush with prescription-strength fluoride toothpaste. This orange cream toothpaste has the active ingredient that has been in use in Japan for 30 years and is known to remineralize tooth enamel, which is a good thing, but I think it is risky to use it alone, without alternating between it and fluoride toothpaste. So I have put on rotation the Japanese ingredient, stannous fluoride and sodium fluoride. That is it good to add stannous fluoride to the routine of regular sodium fluoride has been endorsed by my dentist's son who is also a dentist. I have not told him about the Japanese ingredient, though. |

Had a rough night yesterday and was hit with a heavy duty meds reaction to a new dose. I fell asleep fully clothed around 8 and didn't wake up until 10:00 this morning, as a result I didn't brush or floss.
