Despite not falling asleep until my regular time of midnight I was able to get up early. I have about 15 minutes before I have to leave. I recall waking often during the night but feel pretty rested. We’ll see how the day goes. I won’t get back until late.

Last night was rough. I stayed up way too late on the phone. My ex is missing again. He's been gone for two days now. He always seems to show up somewhere after a binge, but I am so sick and tired of this game where he just goes and does his drugs all night not giving a damn about anyone else who is worried for his well-being. Suffice to say, it has affected my sleep tremendously. I was tired all day and barely got any work done.

Going to try and sleep now and hopefully, I sleep all night.

At some point you will need to accept that he is a big boy. A troubled big boy, but still a big boy.

10:42 PM good night

I had a good day. I did not need a nap. I had a difficult but short time when right after lunch I started feeling sleepy while passively attending a webinar over ZOOM, but later, as soon as I switched to being actively involved in my work, that temporary sleepiness went away. And it was not particular bad, either. Just could not help closing my eyes a few times during the webinar.

I was moderately productive and managed to fit in a whole evening of exercise, sauna and stream room in the evening.
Last time, I had a very vivid and very difficult dream. Everyone was against me, including people who normally loved me. When I woke up in the middle of the night, I had to convince myself that it had been a dream and that I was not obligated to continue with that dream.

but in the morning, I had an unusually high sleep score on Oura – 82 – and lately I was in the 60s mostly. Oura asked me to tag what happened yesterday that might have helped the unusually high score. I tagged a hot shower, sauna and steam room. Oura responded by saying that users who tag steam room see a 2% increase in REM. Well, we will see if I continuously dream more after staying in the steam room.

I've started DST in my own personal time zone this week, sort of. I've been alternating getting up at 5am and 6:30am -- I wake up easily at both times. They're 90 minutes apart, which is the length of the average sleep cycle (according to experts). On one of my 5am days, I felt tired as soon as I got to work. I haven't felt like that in a long time. I'm guessing I really do need to sleep for about 8 hours.

I think I'll be getting to bed by 10:15pm, and I'll let myself sleep until 6:30am tomorrow.

Thanks so much @SquarePegGuy !! I think this new therapist is really going to work out. @Tart Cherry Jam - this boy is too much of a manchild to ever grow up - but I am a firm believer that we don't choose who we fall in love with really hard. This will take a long time to break free from. Had a great meeting with a new health/wellness coach today that I met at the fundraiser, so things are progressing well!

Going to try and go to bed early tonight, been doing pretty good even though it's been tough to fall asleep. I said I wanted to spend more time away from the computer, but I just bought myself a big new shiny one! Lol. I get it Saturday.

Hope everyone has been sleeping well. Will check in more often, I promise!

Have been up since 7AM. No nap. Did not need one. Revved up all day but restorative yoga in the evening slowed me down. Hope to be able to sleep fine without Lybalvi.

Tomorrow, will go get a data download from the DME provider and then see the sleep psychologist. She will show me how she read the report and I will tell you guys everything I have learned.

Good night.

So the next chapter for me, it has been confirmed, is to experiment with the mask fit and reduce the severity of leaks. Which is something you guys have already told me a number of times. I need that software. Will follow through.

Can’t wait until spring forward. Despite having blackout curtains the sun wakes me up too early on sunny days and I can’t get back to sleep. This morning I was awake much too early. Was up for about an hour and a half then went back to bed was able to do some lucid dreaming. Had a really cool dream of looking for a mall downtown St Paul. But instead there was a tween dance club at the mall entrance and no door to the mall. So I dreamed it was only midafternoon and there weren’t a lot of kids yet and decided to try the emptier side of the club to see if there was an entrance to the mall in back. I was stopped by two very young police officers in swat outfits with machine guns. We talked and they convinced me I was hallucinating the mall and I had dementia cause I was so old. I turned around and walked outside where I wondered aimlessly. Then I realized the youth were pulling one over on me and turned back around but before I could find out what happened next I woke up. It was only a half hour later but the dream seamed so much longer. I felt rested and was able to do what I had planed, laundry! And watching a movie with friends. Now it’s 9 pm and I’m wide awake

Cool, Nammu. I used to have lucid dreams when I was in my early 20s. I'm too tired to have them now, though.

So I went to bed 30 minutes after I said I would last night; I think I'll get to bed by 10:30 tonight. I work from home tomorrow, so I can sleep later if I need to.

Toodles!

It happens to me, too, when I think the dream was so very long but in reality a short time passed. It reminds me of the first book in the Narnia series: Lucy spends hours in Narnia but back in England, she was only gone momentarily.

Last night, went to bed at 10:30 pm

During the night, woke up twice.

This morning, woke up before the 7am alarm but managed to actually get up at 7:12 am.

There are a lot of things I need to accomplish today, but I won't rush into action. I will start the morning by doing a few stretches.

I ended up needing 2 naps today, one in the early afternoon and the other in the evening. I needed them in order to do focused work. I had a deadline: midnight tonight. I have just submitted all the work, a little bit before the deadline. I am now very sleepy, despite the late nap, and am going to bed right now.

Good night! 11:30 PM.

It's basically 10:13pm now (even though it's only 9:13pm EST). Why not start DST the night before?

@SquarePegGuy - I wish it would have started the night before. I have to go to church in the morning and I know I am going to be super tired.

I haven't been sleeping that well. I get up around 3 or 4am. Apparently, I am in a really deep sleep where my mouth is hanging open and the masks slips off above my chin. Do you guys' experience this? Well, it wakes me up and I can't go back to sleep.

So basically, I have been up since 4am and I am losing an hour tonight.

The good news is, I will be able to drive later at night now.

No, it doesn't happen to me that the mask slips off. But my mask is probably too tight because in the morning there are crevices on my nose from the mask. In an hour or two, they go away.

Today has been a fantastic day for me. Last night I got 7 hrs 13 mins of net sleep. This was from going to bed at 11:33 PM to finally getting up at 8:33 AM. I initially got up at 7AM with my daily alarm, but later at 7:30 went back to bed. And so many good things happened today, including an important conversation with the T, and all thanks to getting enough sleep.

11:38 PM good night. Tomorrow I need to accomplish a whole lot. I better go to bed right now.

@LadyShadow, this makes me think you have a full face mask: "...my mouth is hanging open and the masks slips off above my chin"

Would you be able to use a chin strap with your mask? It should keep your mouth closed.

I use a nasal pillow mask; before that I used a nasal mask. So, no, I've never had the this problem.

But I do seem to have a problem with my mouth open, and the positive pressure escapes out my mouth, which makes the therapy less effective.

The varieties of masks are described here:
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-...s/art-20546828

I'm yawning right now, every 15 seconds or so. It's only 6pm in my time zone, yet I could probably go to sleep now and not wake up for at least 10 to 12 hours.
