Anyone have any good books to recommend for coping with various issues? I'm doing one right now called The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook: Practical DBT Exercises for Learning Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance. (Sounds good, huh?) Authors are Matthew McKay, Jeffrey C. Wood, and Jeffrey Brantley. I've only just started, but have gotten a lot out of it already. Also, if you have any to warn us about, please let us know that too.

Hey, Violet, I have been reading a couple "writing" books that have helped me enormously with my life, Page After Page and Chapter After Chapter by Heather Sellers:

They incorporate writining and "life" together into being a whole person. Very interesting/easy to read and motivational too!

Sorry to get off subject, but every time I read one of your posts I have to laugh at the pic of the cat.

Sure! Dr Clay Tucker-Ladd has a free online book on Psychological Self-help. This is his forum for discussion of things in that book. (He's currently away getting through chemo.) Hope you find something to help you!

If you "lose" the link in this thread, you can access it through the Self Help subject index line, and also it's in DocJohn's sticky post at the top of the forum. book recommendations

Everyone's welcome to give feedback to and ask questions of drclay right here in his forum. book recommendations

Yes, Dr. Clay's book is excellent; he's been working on/with it for over 10 years, just did a major update.

I borrowed the picture :-) from someone on another site and added their title onto the picture itself and adjusted its size, etc. Feel free to right click and steal it from me book recommendations
