Hey all.

((((((((((((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I know that dealing with the urges and everything is hard.
I know that dealing with people's misconceptions and judgement is hard.
I know that dealing with the aftermath of SI and the scars is hard.
I know that dealing with therapists and doctors who don't understand is hard.

I know it's hard to beat this addiction.
I know it's hard to sometimes go without self-injuring.
I know it's hard to deny the urges some days.

But I also know that it's worth it, even if it's scary.
I know it's worth it, when we've got more positive ways to cope.

I also know that we can do it, one moment at a time sometimes.

Hang on, hold strong.

I feel this may be a misconception on your part. Maybe you have had a bad experience with a Doctor or therapist. But I feel I need to point out that most therapists DO understand and want to help and support those that self-harm.

Hugs

You are right ((((((((((pegasus))))))))))))))

It hasn't been my experience that therapists are unknowledgeable or uncaring, it's that sometimes I've heard that therapists sometimes don't feel equipped to deal with someone who is actively self-injuring because they don't know how to help. I know I shouldn't lump everyone into one category though, so thanks for pointing that out. You are right, I shouldn't "throw out the baby with the bath water" as the expression goes.
