So, I have been SIing my entire life. In some form for as long as I can remember. I have had years off where I did very little and years where I have done tons of damage. I would like to stop. I have been seeeing therapists on and off my entire life, but it has never helped with this. I have been seeing a new one for a few months now and we have not really talked much about it yet. I really don't think a therapist can help because of my past experiences with them. I have used a number of techniques to stop myself or postpone many times in my life, but nothing that ends it. So my question is, for those that no longer do this, how did you finally end it for good?

I think due to anger mostly. Or maybe to have some control over something. Not completely sure, but punishing myself has always felt right.
