Last night I came across something on the internet that said skin is only about 2mm deep, and my first thought was "Oh, that's it? I could cut through that easily..."
What the hell? ![]()

There are many ways you could interperet this thought. For one, I think that even people of whom don't self harm may think this to themselves (though that is slightly unlikely).
As you are a self harmer though, I am thinking that maybe that thought could be related to a thought of/urge to self harm. I know this may be frightening for you - the first thing to come into your head was of a self harm nature. What I recommend you do is speak your T about this thought. It isn't crazy or anything. It's just because you have urges to self harm that it's sometimes at the back of your mind. And certain things to do with skin or where you cut can bring that thought forward. Sorry you are going through tough times. Urges SUCK. Have some PC Hugs! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I also think that this could be realted to a thought of self-harm that is leading you into the urge of self-harming. Ideas always start before actions do. People who self-harm often tend to think about their thoughts in which are led to urges and actions. Try to think about reflecting on this statement of your skin being about 2mm thick. I wish you the best of hope. Keep me updated and let us know your progress! I really care a lot and don't want you to engage in this behavior; afterall, it only lasts for that minute for a quick release of emotions freeing you from your internal self, but the effects of the scaring and visible display from your negative acts will be hard to handle in the later long-term issue. PM me anytime, I"m always ready to help and support you in any way. ~dance59326

The idea is simply not to allow yourself to get lost in regrets about past or worries about the past or worries about the future. If you are firmly in the present moment, the past can be an object of inquiry, the object of your mindfulness by looking into the past, but you are still grounded in the present moment" ![]() ![]() |
