Today I did a cut on my arm. It's strange though because it's LESS than 1 MILLIMETRE deep yet there is a yellow and bubbly bit sticking out of the wound which I believe to be fat.

It's too late to get stitches and to be honest, the wound isnt deep enough. What can I do ?

Leave it out for it to dry out or keep it covered with the dressing and bandage I am using now ?

So...

1. Should I leave it covered or open
2. How long should I keep it covered before being able to let air get to it
3. How can I reduce the pain it is causing me
4. What should I cover the wound with ?
5. How come I got down to the fat layer with such an undeep cut ?

Please help me. I regret all of the cuts on my at the moment. I just want this wound to heal ASAP so I can get on with everything.

NEVER going to cut again!

(((hugs)))

Wash the arm with tepid water, apply hydrogen peroxide with a cotton balls. A gel, such as neosporin or Polysporin (my fave) will help prevent infection and limit any scarring. Cover with gauze and tape (or large bandage).

Lol I will try and find all that stuff tomorrow. Right now just have a dressing on the wound. I removed a dressing today though and the wound started to bleed again (not a lot at all...slowly) and so i went in the shower and stuck another one on when I got out.

Keep it covered - it will need time to seal - clean it daily - if you've cut to the fat layer you should get a dr to look at it .

i am glad you are not going to cut again - you deserve better than that P7

Fabulous that you won't cut again, as for what you should do:

cover it to keep it out of germs and harmful debris

use a bandaid that is "breathable"

use ice to relieve the pain

cover it with a bandaid either a large or a smaller one, but make sure that the gauze on the bandaid is well protected and has the adhesive around it to protect the cut

It would depend where you cut yourself

Where did you cut yourself???

Ok, then it seems like it is fat. Keep good care of it and observe progress/degression carefuly to monitor if you need to go to the doctor.
Please try to keep safe, I'm thinking of you.

Yes, thank you. The cut is healing...I think. It turns out I was kinda under-exaggerating the depth. Meh. But yeah. A skin layer startd to form so I stopped dressing it and now it has a scab (which bleeds whenever knocked.)
