SI isn't all about getting rid of objects that you can use to SI with. Because if you really wanted to SI, you'd find other things to use. However, if you really feel like getting rid of those triggering objects, it can be a positive step forward in your decision to quit cutting. If you ever want to talk, you can PM me. I've been SI'ing since I was a child, and am lately getting really good at not doing it. I got a few tricks up my sleeve, so if you ever need some support I'm here for ya.

I hope that one day you will be ready to part from them. Until then, keep an open communication about it with your therapist. Think of it as alcoholism. That razor and knife set is like you being in a bar. The temptation can overwhelm you. But I believe that if you seek help and talk with your therapist, you will soon be ready to "leave the bar" or part ways with the knife set.

well I had the same problem - I used the same set of "tools" every time I self harmed. My T asked if it was ok for her to take them away and have them disposed of. After a LOT of negotiations, me saying no, I backed down and let her. It was good to get rid of them, it was cleansing somehow.
But unfortunately it didn't stop me, I just went out and bought more of the same "tools". And before that, starting using other things. It's hard though, I felt guilty for my T because she tried so hard to make a positive change.

Unfortunately for me, i didn't have a "certain tool" that I used. I scavenged. I used anything. Therefore I couldnt get "it" away from me. cause I was surrounded by things I knew i could use.

Mmm...I have an enormous fear of using anything that might cause infection - this is, I guess, a blessing in disguise? I think the use of the same tools is part of the ritual. At the moment I have no idea where ine are because I have recently moved. This is a very good thing.
MAybe that's an option darkmood? hide them somewhere really inaccessable and then after time you'll have totally forgotten where they are?
