I've been punching myself to the point of major bruising on my arm, and I can't stop, is this classed as self harm? I get very angry and low about things, and it seems the only way that really helps me release my emotions is by punching my forearms, once it starts getting painful I stop, calm down and go back to my normal self. Just now I got upset at my otherhalf over something, and as soon as he left I did it again. I can't stop, as much as I try to calm down without it.
I'm finding I'm having to find other places to do this now, as the bruising on my arm is so bad and I'm having to keep giving excuses as to how they got there.
I'm not sure what to do, right now I feel extreamly lost as to where to turn

This is self-injury. Do you have anyone you can talk to? Your parents/significant other/friend? Self-injury is often a hard thing to stop and you will need help finding other ways to express yourself. If you go to your doctor they should be able to refer you to a psychologist to help you. You need to get some help.

So you aren't able to talk to your significant other about your anger?
