Thanks, I read the poem from VL,and that thread, then reread the thread about reasons not to. I'm going to keep trying not to. I thought I couldn't hold out any longer, but after reading all this I'm thinking twice about starting again. The idea that it won't solve anything, and that the relief will only be temporary helps, as does the acknowledgement that it's an addictive behavior, and the scars will last a life time. I guess I'll try to find a way to redirect these feelings. Maybe some journaling or cleaning, just need to keep busy a while, til the feelings go down.

That's great ((((((((((( Quay ))))))))))) I know how difficult it can be to resist. Good luck on keeping distracting yourself! Just try to keep inmind that you might feel worse if you SI ... and that can lead of cycles of it I'm trying.

((((((((((((Quay))))))))))))))) I am so glad you found some things to distract yourself when you are feeling vulnerable. I hope your insight into this behavior helps you continue to resist.

Thank you, everyone. I'm still working at it. Today was difficult again, but I managed not to give in. Do you find it seems to come in cycles? It will seem to be okay for a little while, then I'll go for days when it seems that if I would just give in, it would all be much easier. It just feels like it would make everything so much more manageable. Crazy, I know. And I'm not sure why it feels that way, but it really does.

Still, I'm not giving in. I'm keeping busy instead.
