I was upset and freaking out. So tried strong pain pills. A smoke. A lie down. And still was NOT ok. So bottom of the shower with a blade it was.

I felt better after and was able to talk to my husband.

But now all I will have is another scar. I don't know what I've actually achieved. Yet I needed to do it. Why?

Because it relieved your distress (the pain releases endorphins which improve your mood). Next time can you talk about your distress and relieve it this way? Are you in therapy?

I have a psychologist.

It's not so much the pain I think as the blood. I can jam something into my flesh and it can hurt like hell and nothing. Until I see blood. :S

Have you been working with your therapist on what to do when you are upset?
