i have gotten into body piercing.i just got a subdermal piercing on my chest it is a small diamond set in white gold .my husband has said i have gotten strange,i think it is a good alternitive to SI.i also got the inside of my ear pierced and have a heart hanging inside my ear it is cute.do you think doing this is SI.i think in my case it is differnt.

I don't think body piercing is strange, but you have to consider your motives for it if you are using it as a replacement for SI. Body piercing shouldn't be SI done to you by a different hand.

Body piercings to me can go either way, again depending on the intent.

I have friends that love body piercings, I don’t necessarily think it is weird at all.

I agree - for me si is more about what's going on in your head than anything else.

If you are doing something in order to harm yourself it's si. That could be as simple as walking in a circle, or drinking, or something more 'typical'...

Body piercings in and of themselves aren't weird, I think. What are your reasons for getting them done though?

It's not self-injury if somebody else is doing it. I think that as long as you're not harming yourself negatively you're fine. Just ignore your husband's remarks, if anything laugh at him for making them.
