Hey so... Is self injury something you might've started when u were little put u didn't realize? Like diggin your nails into your arm or slamming yOur foreman on something until it's hurting. Second- I've stopped recently but I want to again- ive Bren scratching with scissors. I don rlly understand why. I'm not that type at all. But it's gotten worse. It's use to be just a little scratch that didn't bleed. Now it bleeds. Not like a lot but it does bleed. Idk or understand what this is.

I used to do that when I was younger, and it turned into cutting the sides of my fingers with scissors, and slowly got worse. Please don't hurt yourself. Find another way to cope with emotions. Write, music, talk, scream into a pillow, run, cleen, anything to keep yourself busy.

It is still self harm if you hurt yourself. I started from a scratch then I cut myself deeper and my cuts bled. Self harm is basically a coping mechanism. The reason why I hurt myself is to get rid of the negative emotions. I wouldn't recommend it because self harm can be addicting and quite hard to get out of. Plus the scars don't look nice either.

Here's suggestions on what to do instead of hurting yourself.

I know it can be confusing. I don't know specifically why you hurt yourself other than that you feel some sense of release from it. Why it gets worse: because it's like alcohol, the little things evetually don't cause the same sense of release, so you need more pain, the only way to get more pain is to make more cuts or go deeper. I urge you to get help now as it is only going to get harder to resist.

Thanks. I read an article online the kids set me off and made me want to do it again really bad then I saw a girl posted things to do to distract like drawing a picture. Then the next girl said "I didn't cut but I drew an amazing
Picture" that made me laugh and helped a lot. Iguessnlaughter is the ultimate thing that stops me.

I had to quit using a lot of chat sites because if something was triggering me and I asked them not to do it (ex. typing in red), a lot of people were really mean about it and some just did it more.

Hello Mysterygirl.

I agree with ickydog. Its hard to get of a path sometimes. Keep busy and distract you're self.
