i cant sleep and am having troubles keeping my mind off S.I. need ideas and fast

Sorry for the late reply...my two biggest suggestions would be:

Keep anything that triggers you to self harm out of the house. If some of these things must be kept in the house, (knives, razors, because they are used for positive things as well), then trying to stay away from the rooms that contain these things may help. At least until the urges pass!

Distraction, distraction, distraction! I say that 3 times because it is so important. Doing anything positive/neutral to keep your mind busy works. For me, some of these things include exercise, walking, taking a long, hot bath (without a razor nearby), reading, and listening to music. Writing out my feelings helps too. Whatever works for you, is good.

Are you currently seeing a therapist? Talking to a professional can really help, because they can help you find the reasons WHY you self-harm in the first place.

I hope these urges pass soon!

I have also noticed I have the urge more while I'm at school what.would be some ways to reduce the urge
