I am going to an overnight event with the girl scouts tomorrow. There will be kids from 6 - 18 years old, plus the other leaders.
I have a couple of fresh scars (dark pink) on my arm. I am going to try to find a swim shirt, but if i can't, is there anything else i can do? What do i tell people?

There is nothing worse than self injury or suicidal thoughts. If you are going through them, you don't need to be afraid of anything. If anybody asked, tell him that you rather don't want to talk about it or tell him the truth if you want.

I would find a swim shirt or wear a t-shirt. I wouldn't trust anyone with that kind of honesty. You don't know what they would do with the information that you cut. Tell them you get cold in the water- whatever. It isn't really their business to ask such a personal question, anyway.

Good luck!

If anyone is rude enough to ask, just tell them it's personal and that if they'll excuse you for not answering, you'll excuse them for asking ...
