I'm pretty sure you guys will understand so I'm posting it here. It's pretty impossible to tell anyone else.
I'm ticked that I don't have SI as an outlet right now. Of course it is always my choice, but I feel as though my hands are tied. If I SI I'll need to tell my husband and I don't want to upset him or let him down. If I SI again I don't think my T will take me seriously. I'm doing a lot of things instead of SI -- mostly exercise -- but my body is sore and tired today. I want to have a day off of exercise without SI urges. Could I get a hug from you guys? That would help some, I know. |

Don't know if it would help, but what about opposite sensations to distract? Hot shower, holding an ice cube....

purple, I've tried those before -- and at least right now they just tick me off worse. lol There's something about the damage that I "need."
The good thing is that every intense thought and urge eventually dissipates. It may come back, but then it will go away again, and again. |

I understand getting ticked by trying to channel the feelings/thoughts elsewhere. "No, darn it, I'm NOT going to be positive, I'm going to be self-destructive!" (my thoughts- only there are usually some expletives) Glad the urge dissipates and hope it stops coming back.

No, not yet. We haven't discussed it much as it has been only a few weeks since I started.
I'm trying to be mindful of what is causing the urges though. It's certainly not cut and dry (no pun intended). |
