i have started cuting my self on my arm with a peace of glass i almost have 20 cuts already and i cant stop i want to but it helps me from dieing im not shere why but when i cut my self it makes me feal alive. the fact that i am cutting my self but not slitting my trought as i want to helps me alittle but any ideas of a way for me not to. i dont want to but i need to i need some tips on how to stop this before it becomes part of me?

Squeezing ice can help get the pain, or sticking your hand/arm in ice water. You have to really want to quit though. You probably won't find a way to get the same instant gratification, and will need to try and focus a lot on why you don't want to cut.

You need to get a therapist so that you can work on the causes for your feeling so bad.

I agree with both above me! Like Sannah said, a therapist can help a lot, if you're not already seeing one, to work out why you SI and help you through those feelings.As ickydog said, ice can help alleviate some urges, snapping a rubber band on your arm might help too. What helps me is using red food die and poor it out in the sink or down my arm, just seeing something like blood calms my nerves.

i like your tips and ill try thum i diched the glass i was yousing to day but i got pissed off at some one today so bi broke a glass agen to have somthing to cut with but ill try the rubber band but i know that the ice dosint work for me but ill try some of the other sugestons thanks to those who gave thum to me
