I was doing great not cutting for over a week. I didn't even want to. then today, I accidentally broke my mirror. I was cleaning up the glass and it was sharp and.. well I cut myself with it... Idek why. One minute I was fine and the next minute I was bleeding and wondering why I just did that to myself

It helped me to always have a red marker in my pocket or otherwise within my reach, so I could draw red lines on my arms with ink instead of blood. Of course it's not the same as cutting, but it was very helpful in preventing me from actually using razors or broken glass.
If it's about seeing blood, maybe the ink coping skill is something you could work with? ![]() Stay strong! |

I would suggest not having the goal of stopping for good. I would suggest having the goal of not SI ing as much as possible. Stopping SI for good at this stage is a HUGE goal and it sets you up for disappointment. If you do nothing and SI every day you will SI 365 times this year. If you have the goal to SI as little as possible and only SI once per week you have decreased your SI down to 52 times for the year (And this is only goal one. You can eventually move to goal 2 which is once every 2 weeks maybe, which will decrease your SI down to 26 times/year).
If you set attainable goals, you can feel good about meeting them and this is huge. If you set goals that aren't attainable you will only feel bad about yourself and this is not good at all.
