I have not cut in three months but often want to, it helps me release my pain in a creative way. My therapist told me to start off with snapping rubberbands on my wrist or in your case ankles. This has helped me very much, I sometimes snap them to the point where I make marks on my arms that last for a day or two but it's better than permanent scars. Once I find out more ways to prevent cutting I shall come here and post them, for you because I hate to see people in danger. Good luck and don't fluck it up.

I haven't cut in over a week, maybe two weeks. I still want to--everyone here knows what you are going through; we all have the same urges.

Stopping is easy...it's not starting again after a few days, weeks, or months that's the problem.
You just have to not do it. There is no easy way. Find out what triggers it, and try to deal with that. |

I agree with Nemo, you have to deal with whatever is causing the urges.
