So, on and off for a while now I've been getting compulsions to hurt. It'll be random but it'll be severe. I've already attempted suicide once because of it. It's anything from downing whatever substance is in front of me, to stabbing myself in the gut, to hanging myself in the subway. And along with the sui compulsions I really, Really, REALLY want to hurt, always in very specific places.
So to combat this I'm planning on getting my inner wrists pierced. That way I have something to press on when I get like this, or play with in a sensitive area. Im hoping its enough to satisfy the craving without causing any real damage to anything but my wallet. Opinions? Does this make any sense or am I being irrational?

Are you working on this in therapy?

No, I've been trying to handle it on my own. I'm in therapy but anything really personal seems like an off topic, so specifics never get mentioned.

It's group therapy, and they specifically don't want you going into detail about anything personal or anything off topic. :/ it's the biggest issue with groups, but I haven't found a one on one T yet.

Keep looking for a one on one T. As for now, it's a solution to the pain portion, but doesn't solve the real problem.

What do you need to do to find your own T?
