I cut myself for the first time 2 days ago at 4am. Is it bad that I find this to be no big deal?

I don't know that it's bad. personally, the first time I cut I thought it was a pretty big deal. it's over time that it's just become "normal" to me..

I started cutting 3 years ago and still do it....I find it no big deal.... others do, but they don't understand the way you feel.... all I can say is be careful and don't go too deep....one wrong cut will be your last....

Any form of SI should be taken seriously. I woudn't call it bad that you consider it no big deal, but i would consider it denial. The fact that you cut yourself means that there is something in your life that is really bothering you. It doesn't have to be on the surface where it would be easy to identify, but the problem is there.

Before it gets any further, seek out either a counsellor or pschologist. Its rarely a one time thing and can easily become a habit. Regardless of whether you are embarrassed or ashamed or even don't care that you did it, don't wait for it to happen again before you seek help. Believe me, you don't want to suffer with the pain, scars, lies to explain your scars and battling with your own mind every day. Please get help.
