How do I know if I need to go inpatient for SI? I've just been having a really hard time lately. I feel like my life has steadily been falling apart, and the last straw came yesterday when the guy I was dating broke up with me. I had sui thoughts only for awhile, not really anymore, and they were only thoughts - nothing serious. I just feel like I need a break though. Do you think it sounds like I should go? I'm 18 so it would be voluntary.

If you are questioning yourself it's likely that you should go. I have been able to avoid the ER a couple of times by going to stay with my parents. BUT i FOLLOWED UP WITH T AND PDOC.
Do you have somewhere to go where you think you can be safe and that you know they will take you in if you need it? |

Thanks for your advice. I am going to call my therapist tomorrow to see if I can get it. I might think about switching therapists too.
