I'm so sorry hun. My grandmother had a severe stroke in her frontal lobe about two years ago. It was a very emotionally trying time. Try to stay positive and strong for your father, he needs you now. He's going to need you for some time. I hope all of the best for you and your family.

(((((((all)))) Thanks so much for you kind worse. It's hard because he's 50, in great physical shape, and was just overall a healthy person... none of the risk factors.
SI is very hard to fight throughout this.... though I have to admit, I'm not doing much fighting. I'm doing what I feel I need to in order to get through this difficult time, put a smile on my face, and hold my brother's hand.

I'm sorry jacq. I'm glad that you are with your family. Feeling the way you are with this is normal. I hope that you can learn to sit with these feelings and not need to SI. Please continue to keep us posted.

I am so so sorry... He is in my thoughts. My Grandma just had a second stroke yesterday.. She is only 58 and I was heartbroken, AM heartbroken. But we are just trying to get her well again, she is too young. I hope the same for your Dad. My thoughts are with you and your family.

My prayers are with you and your Dad.
May he make a full recovery, soon. 50. That's so young. Please don't S.I. For his sake, your family's and your friends here. Please try the 'ice cube' release method I've spoke of many times. (see my profile for posts made) |

Yes it is very hard and that is quite young. My grandmother was 67 when she had hers. I thought that was terribly young. She was healthy, driving, active, never smoked or drank, just overall healthy. It seemed to happen out of nowhere.
Again you and your family are in my thoughts. Many people recover very well and quickly, though I must add, and with absolutely no intent to upset you some do not recover so well. My grandma is a funny new person now, but her damage involved her reasoning skills. So while she is self-sufficient (bathing, eating, dressing, etc.) she can't remember what year it is, has trouble knowing if it's day or night, and is dangerously brain-washed by infomercials. It took time to adjust, but this is just a new version of her that I've come to know and love. |
