Hi, I'm new here. Diagnosed bipolar 2 w/a touch of borderline personality disorder. Anyway, am I alone in NOT wanting to stop my cutting? I know how much pressure to use and where NOT to cut so I don't bleed out, and the stress-relief is instantaneous... Help?

Hey welcome to PC. You're def *not* alone. I've haven't SIed in a couple of months now but ofc I still get urges every once in a while that make me go crazy and wish that I had never stopped in the first place. It's scary to let go of something that's helped me before (even though it was in the worst way possible). Letting go is always scary, especially if it's been 10 yrs for you. Deep down you probably know that you need to stop. Take it slowly. Things like stopping don't happen overnight.

i can relate in sometimes not wanting to stop. for me, SIing makes me feel strong and oddly helps with my self esteem if i do it "good". i know this thought pattern is not good at all. but you are definately not alone in this.
do you ever talk to anyone about your SIing? Maybe talking to someone might give you a reason to try to stop? hugs |

Not with SI but with similar things. I think it's more about learning fast releases before taking away SI.
