I agree. Numbness can be a sign of an infection or possible nerve damage. I would go to the doctor or ER to get some help and have them find out why. Another sign of an infection is your temperature is elevated.

If I don't go because I know I wont...Are there creams or something else I can put on?

Antibiotic ointments may help. Signs if infection are redness, being sore, tender, or numb around the wound. Discharge is also a sign.
I would highly recommend going to your doctor or ER. They should keep you or restrain you, unless you are a danger to yourself. They may urge you to seek help from a mental health person, but can't force you unless the doctor has reasonable belief you or someone else is in danger. TmilIf they believe that they may have a psychaitrist evaluate you. Infections are better catch early then deal with them later. It could start to spread and may become so infectedd that they have to amputate to prevent the infection from spreading to vital organs.

If it doesn't start feeling/looking better soon or starts feeling/looking worse you need to seek professional help. I don't care if you don't want people to know or whatever. It's not worth risking even more serious injury or even death.

Thanks it got a lot better. It's not really numb, just like I'm trying not to put too much pressure on it & trying not to self harm there which virtually is impossible, but I'm going lighter, trying to sh somewhere else. Have you had experience about talking to like a therapist or someone else about the sh? It's very anxiety-provoking for me, that's why I ask |

Yes I have and it was difficult. I felt very vulnerable and scared, but both of the therapist I talked to were understanding and helpful. You may want to find a therapist that has experience in self harm. Most therapist that treat borderline personality disorder have experience since self harm is quite common with those patients. Start slow and try to develop trust with your T. Remember you have the right to chose what you talk about and can stop when things get uncomfortable.
