Hi, Please don't...you are still able to fight this urge. Did something burden you today? I have a difficult time with my emotions when something is done to put me in a black hole. But don't give up on yourself because today is not the first day of fighting the urge. You are already on a fighting road to recovery. Please don't turn back...and I know that some thing is bothering your heart and mind; however, I care about you. You are a music lover? I am too. Why not get some very soft tunes to listen to now. Perhaps, something with the sounds of the piano will help. Soft music brings out those good feelings and you may want to soak your feet while listening, and put your head back on a comfy pillow while in a relaxed position, lift your feet up from the floor and try to imagine that you are floating on the soft notes of sound. What's important is that you find a good way to distract those troubling thoughts, right away. In no time, you will not feel these strong urges. You may simply drift off to a comfortable sleep. Please stay safe; I care ![]() |

Hello MusicLover79-I'm sorry you're struggling with urges, especially after four months of not using SI. I agree with mazing, Tabitha Layne had some great ideas. When the urges are strong I sometimes try to clench my fists as tightly as I can and then release-and I do that over and over again. I also try to use deep breathing exercises-slowly breathing deeply in and then letting it out. Some kind of exercise might help. Try to remember that whatever happens you deserve compassion, support and understanding. I hope that you will return and let us know how you are doing.

breathe DEEP. Slow. Notice every feeling within your body. What does your chest feel, your feet, your head, your arms, your butt, your face.....
Write each feeling down. When you are done with that - I bet your urge is at least a "little less". Hang in there. |

Just a suggestion that has helped me a few times...journal. Let out your thoughts and feelings and you can maybe figure out a trigger or resolve the trigger. Good luck.
