Is it possible to get what feels like lumps of scar tissue right under the skin in places where you used to harm a lot and added scar over scar over scar etc.? Or could they be tumors? I really don't want to go through the humiliation of going to a doctor if they're most likely lumps of scar tissue and not tumors. And I don't want to go through more tests and radiate my body unnecessarily.
By the way, I've been worried about tumors because the last time I went to the doctor, they were really confused why I didn't have any tumors or cancer. But they were checking other parts of my body, so I guess there's a chance…but there's a lot of scar tissue there. I'm just panicking right now... |

Are those going to kill me? I don't harm there anymore and I don't harm much at all (just the occasional relapse). There were cuts and burns stacked on top of each other in case that makes a difference. I'm on medication…actually too much medication; I have to go off some of it.

Also, there's no discoloration of the skin in those areas and there isn't too much of raised skin…I have other places where the scars are more "raised".

Keloids don't kill you you. They are just scar tissue that grows bigger than the initial cut.

I looked up keloids and they don't look anything like that…first of all, you can't see them. Second of all, they're under the skin…so I don't know if it's the same thing.

It still could just be scar tissue under the skin from the constant cuts. If you have the risk of tumors in that area though I would suggest you get them checked. It might be nothing but better to be safe.
