Is there anyone else out there who feels worse at night when everyone else is asleep? Most of my SI (whether cutting or OD'ing on pills) happens at night. My T helped me identify that my trigger is being alone at night. When my husband goes to sleep and I am not ready to sleep yet, I stay up for some time. That is when the negative thoughts and behaviors come alive. Anyone else experience this?

Mine too. Though when it comes back after a "break" it's all the time. When i get into a habit of similar, it's always worse I'm alone, or at night/early morning. Things always seem different in the daylight.

Yep, it was the same for me. For me, I could keep myself busy during the day (and be around others) but at night it was much harder to keep myself busy when others were sleeping and I felt quite alone.

I always tend to feel worse at night. At night when my family is asleep, I am in the prime position to be introspective and think about all the past mistakes I made, and anything that puts me a vulnerable emotional state. At these times I tend to get depressed, and for me the "perfect" way to stop those feelings is to SI.

Yeah, me too...definitely worse when tired and mind is whirling in negative circles. Plus more likely to have privacy or be in the bathroom. Being tired is a major trigger for me as I am unable to handle the negative self image/shame/disappointment/guilt feelings that make me want to punish myself...
Good luck to you....try to remember it usually comes in waves...if you can distract or stay safe long enough, it will pass...

Definitely. It allows me to be alone with my thoughts, which can be dangerous. Though I have gotten much better over the past few years at channeling my urges into creative energy, which is good.
