I felt so frustrated with myself after my therapy session yesterday, about not letting people in and not telling my dr about my anxiety, that I ended up calling and leaving a message on the nurses line ask if me overdosing before surgery could be the cause for my complications. I never have told her this information, and then in a state of panic I ended up leaving a message confessing what I did. I said she didn't have to call me back yesterday or if she wanted me to come in to talk about it, I would. I don't know what I was thinking. It's too late to turn back, and now I'm sick to my stomach about the reaction and what she'll say and facing her after confessing that secret.

I bet it's terrifying, but it's very likely that telling her is for the best. She is a nurse after all, they've experienced a number of horror stories. I'm sure she'll handle it well.

I'm not concerned about what the medical assistant (said nurse earlier on accident) thinks of the situation, but I know she'll relay the info to my doctor. My dr is on who always calls the patients herself if there is a problem, so I'm worried about how she'll react and if she'll call to discuss it or have me come in.

I know it's hard, but sometimes admitting can help in the recovery program.
Ultimately it's up to you of how you react.
Thanks for this!

I know it is hard but it is probably for the best. While it is difficult to manage the emotions when people know, it also allows them to help and support you.
Thanks for this!

I haven't heard anything back yet, so now I'm really anxious about it. I hate waiting, but that's my fault for calling late afternoon on Friday.

I'm seeing this doctor in a few minutes. I'm so so nervous about what she'll say. I hate crying at a doctor's appointment, but I feel like I might depending on her reaction to it.

It went better than I expected it to go. She knew of my er visit, and just wanted to make sure I'm seeing my therapist this week. And she said she can't say for sure but she doesn't think the overdose hsd anything to do with the blood clot and that it was probably just the surgery only. She just said to call her asap if anything changes and to let her know how therapy is going.
