Okay. I think that it is commendable that you haven't done it it a while. What has caused those thoughts? Is there something that happened recently? Can you try and distract yourself? Keep talking to us. We want to help you.

Can you try and hold off of doing it. Like "riding the wave"? Or how about writing things down? Sometimes if I let myself cry it out, I end up feeling a lot better afterwards.

It won't last. I think that thinking about it is probably making it worse. Try to focus your mind on something else.

when I am anxious I imagine a meter in my head...and it is usually measuring around an eight or a ten in my mind...so I breath and in my mind I turn the dial down on the meter until the need registers around a four so that I can manage the anxiety better. this visualization usually makes me feel calmer. I do it as often as I need to. in my head I just repeat..dial down, dial down..and it helps me relax.
