I've noticed lately that when I cut, the blood has an odor to it. I never used to notice any smell. What could be causing this?
There's no signs of infections or anything, and I've actually been cutting a bit less than I used to (as in once a day instead of every couple hours). The only thing I can think of is that I haven't been eating healthily lately, so could it be diet related? |

Blood has an odor, especially if there is more than just a scratch. The smell comes from the iron in the blood. People often say it smells coppery. Its not abnormal though. As long as the wound is not infected, its probably just the iron. you may not always smell it. Sometimes it seems stronger than others.

Thanks, that makes sense. Any ideas on how to hide the smell? I'm not sure others can smell it, but I'm finding it really unpleasant.
