I thought I was getting better. I had gone a while without si. K was feeling a bit better and then one day I went back down and I cut again. It was just a few scratches. I tried moving on but today at school I was just having such negative thought I cut. I feel so ashamed. My parents and therapist think I haven't cut in a long time. They think I'm getting better, but I'm just getting better at hiding.

Are you seeing anyone about this issue? Have you tried to find new hobbies or ask for time of from school?

I am but I don't like talking about it. Especially because I see how much it upsets my mom.

Can you talk to your therapist about it? They are there to help you.

Really? Is it because you do it really bad?

My therapist has never told my mom about my self harming.

Oh, I would hate that. Can you tell her about what feelings led you to SI?

My therapist tells my mom when I self harm too. It's not fun, I know. It really upsets my mom when she finds out.

But I also think that your therapist should probably be kept up to date on how you're doing. Maybe consider your mom finding out a "side effect" of doing what's best for you. Your therapist should know so that she can help you through this.
