Does anyone else alternate between being a happy/"normal" person, going about their everyday activities and having thoughts of SI and/or death?

Today I was sitting in a conference, learning about different research that is going on at my university (something that I love), and I suddenly found myself feeling anxious and thinking about SI. Granted, I was in emerg twice this week getting stitches so that also might be why it was on my mind.

I find this happens to be a lot though... feeling great one second, and then being consumed by these thoughts.

Anyone else?

Yeah I get this too. Doesn't matter on my mood, the thoughts are still there and seem pop up out of nowhere!
Thanks for this!

I am a very mercurial person so this happens to me a lot. But I find the riskiness of my thoughts depends on what I am doing. If I am working out then the thoughts aren't "risky" but if I am alone, then I need to change them more so.
Thanks for this!

I would say this happens to me most of the time (almost every day). It sometimes gets to the point that I am almost afraid to feel as if I am doing okay - because my depression will only attack me worse if I enjoy a day.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I guess it's just something that I will have to learn to accept and try not to dwell upon.
