can forcing ones self to eat large ammounts of overly rich foods until one gets ill , be a form of self injury ?

</div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> yes. it certainly can be a form of SI. perhaps not in the "traditional" thinking but when broken down to the basics it is something that is being done to distract thinking.............cutting, burning, binging, etc are all ways to distract the brain from what else is going through the mind. there are healthier methods than the above listed.

kinda embarassed, I ate 4 squares of Pilar bars this morning cuz I got ticked off at someone here in the house (not hubby) one of the members too many ppl cuz of snow storm , so I made us sick, at the same time it felt better

Sounds like it is coming from the same place - a need to manage overwhelming feelings. Sometimes I don't even know that I am doing something to hurt myself, or even that it hurts. Recently I found out that eating jalapeno peppers goes in that category for me.

it depends, i think, on your perpose.
do you WANT to do SI when you eat a lot or you just like eating?
i think that if you KNOW you will get ill you do hurt youself on purpose. if you don`t think of it but just enjoiy the food and then get sick... then it`s an accident and you don`t do it again.

maybe it `s an eating disorder?

angie, i did it recently. i KNEW i would be ill........

glad you brought this up. puts my behavior in perspective now.
