Hi Everybody!
I have pretty bad SI scars on both arms. I'm 25 and can't wear short sleeves at all which is a big problem for me! Has anyone here gotten tattoo's to successfully cover or even just get the attention away from their scars? Does it even work? I went to a tattoo artist and he said he could put a pretty nice tatt on my inside arm that would cover up the scars on that part (they're everywhere) quite a bit. He's a pretty good artist and I trust him, I've just never seen it before. I know the ink might not take and may need topping up every once in a while. Thanks folks! |

Generally I understand that scars won't take the ink as well as normal skin. (I have a scar on the arm where my sleeve is. Unfortunately for me it's also where I have a huge patch of black and you can see quite a difference.)
A really good artist can usually make up a design that can distract or incorporate the scars though. I dunno if this link will work but if you go to google images and type in tattoo covering scars or something you will find a lot of images. https://www.google.com.au/search?hl=...too+cover+scar |

I have a tattoo on my scars, it looks better with a tattoo but if you look deep inside you can see the scars under the color.
I'm glad I did it, now it looks better ![]() |

I got a white tattoo a couple years ago. It's faint and looks like a scar...I got it to offset the urge to SI. I'm thinking about getting more so my actual scars will blend in with the tattoos.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't si'd in months but I'm thinking a sleeve on each arm would prevent me from doing it again as I wouldn't want to mess up the tattoo. It would also cover them quite well I think.
