I totally forgot that my little sisters birthday is this weekend and we are going to one of my favorite water parks. The cuts are on my thigh and it would be weird if I didn't swim, since like I said, it is one of my favorite waterparks and my parents know that. I don't have any shorts that I could swim with so I need to know how to heal cuts fast. HELP??????

Gee katelyn1019: I don't recall ever hearing of any way to heal cuts fast... especially since your trip to the waterpark is this weekend! As far as I'm aware, you're probably stuck with either feigning illness to avoid swimming or perhaps using some type of waterproof makeup if such a thing is available, I don't know if it is.

Perhaps some other PC members will have some better suggestions. On the other hand, perhaps it's not so bad if your parents do see your cuts. Is it possible this could be the beginning of the healing process for you (both physical & emotional)?

i have used super glue for a long time as a bandage and antiseptic. it is used in emergency rooms, and is safe as long as you are careful not to get it in your eyes, or glue your fingers together,,, keep some acetone fingernail polish handy if you decide to try this. it also reduces scarring since it holds the edges of the cut firmly together,, and usually peels off after about 3 days (or less if you use lotion on it). as always when using a new product, test for allergies~!
best wishes,, and i hope you do have a good time this weekend~

When I was an athlete, we used to use hydrocortisone to help healing (yeah, the anti crotch itch stuff). For my self injuries, I now cover them in neosporin and cover that with a bandaid. Then I apply stage makeup.

Try liquid vitamin E; it helps some people.

I switched to banging my head just so I did not have to deal with hiding the burn marks and hiding scars. I know it is dangerous but it does not take much to get the pain I need.

This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors.
Thanks for this!

If I were you, I would wear shorts. I know you said you don't have any, but couldn't you buy or borrow a pair?

for future reference, being a girl, I use the "it's that time of the month" excuse. even using tampons I'm never 100% convinced it'll hold it all, I might just be me being paranoid. Likewise I get away with it. It's worked for me so far.

vaseline moisture locking cream works wonders for me. i have heard of some using bio oil. or you could wear one of those half wetsuits that cover your thighs and say you are on your period.
