Just a couple of minutes ago I confessed to my mom that I SI sometimes. It turns out she'd suspected for a rather long while already, and we had a pretty good conversation about it.
SIing is something I try every once in a while because I know it makes other people feel better and I want to have that bit of "feeling better" too, but it never works. I told my mom this and we agreed that, as it doesn't actually help me, I wouldn't do it again. (I'd already promised that to my T a few weeks ago also)

P.S. for those of you who recognize me from the Survivors forum, my parents weren't my abusers. :-)

i am glad that you have come to the conclusion not to do this anymore. afterall, if it is not doing anything for you, then there is no sense doing it. it is nice that you are able to talk to your mother. maybe the two of you could come up with another distraction you could use next time you are feeling that bad that you turned to si.
