It's been almost a week. But all I can think about is cutting. Again. I don't know how to fight it. My head just wants to give in all the time. And I am tired of fighting it. It is so much effort. My head has been in such a bad place tonight. Has been filling my mind with dark thoughts. I just want them to stop.

There are many things that you can do in place of SH. Try melting ice in your hands, or snap a rubber band on your wrist. Read, write, draw? Anything but do not give in to your wants. I know how hard it is, but keep fighting.

Take 5 minute BRISK walk. Exercise can often help.

I managed to win yesterday, but the urges are still there today. If I can last today then it will be a week since I last cut...that's the longest it's been for a while. I'm just not sure that I can make it.

Well..there were two things. I spoke to someone about how I was feeling, he asked me to promise not to hurt myself and I hate breaking my promises to him. Eventually I also just got too tired to have the energy to do anything.

I'm sad for you!
You tried so hard! Did u feel better when u gave in? At least next time you KNOW you can get to six days - nearly seven - and u can save up yr energy/ people to talk to for day six! (I recently didn't drink alcohol for nearly five days (which for me is a big effort - I'm not as attached to self injury as I am to drinking!) and the whole nearly five days was really hard! Today is day three AGAIN and it's been a bit easier because I know I can do four at least! ![]() I hope yr OK! |

Urges are back. They were there yeserday and still there today and getting stronger. But I made an agreement with someone not to cut today...finding it really difficult to stick to it

There are heaps of lists online of things you can do instead...
One's like these... 210 things to do instead of cutting - @bnwranbo And lists above the SI threads here.... Not sure if they're useful! Keep posting! That's a distraction at least! (That's why I'm here right now. Also Very tempted ..... ) Good luck! |
