Has anyone does this? Does it work? I've been "clean" for 5 or so years, probably 6 or 7, IDK.. stopped counting ages ago. I'm left with these stupid sodding scars that kinda don't look fantastic. I'm into fitness, trying to get a decent physique, doing well thus far, but how can I feel comfortable with my shirt off, or even just without long sleeves, if there's a bunch of scars on my arm? God, then there's the scars on my leg. ¬_¬ Same deal there, although thankfully not as much a problem until that day I decide to actaully wear shorts.

Side note: SELF HARM IS NOT WORTH IT. Just makes you regret it when you finally come to your senses. xD But don't take my word for it, when you recover, you'll see for youself.

I want tattoos anyway. I'm thinking of paying a ton for "sleeves" on my arm. I'm also kind of nervous about some tattooist seeing the scars. :| They'll KNOW why I'm doing it. It'll no doubt come up in conversation. I have a feeling they'll have probably seen it before and know to be tactful, but on the off-chance they haven't, it'll be hella awkward. How would I deal with such a sitch?

Advice welcome. Thanks!

PS
Turn that self-hatred into something practical and/or creative: workout, play an instrument, write, whatever it is, if it's healthy, find it, use it, and it'll be your crutch to help you get through it. just some advice from my experiences. YMMV.

i got a tattoo to cover up the scars on my arm a couple months ago. it came out beautiful. i just went in with my idea and said i wanted to cover the scars and acted like it wasnt any big deal and the guy followed suit. he never asked me anything about how i got them. i kept waiting for him to ask me if it was hurting cause i was prepared to say "isnt it obvious i like drawing razor blades across my skin" but he never said a word. after he was done he was so proud of his work he made me show his "scar coverup" to all the other artists in the shop. you can see the results in this thread.....post #4....the wrist tattoo.......

My worry is that the scars will show over the tattoo, making them even more prominent, but your pictures look promising, as they're really good!
