I think this is my biggest pitfall other than actually cutting. The places I cut, although not usually deep, take forever to heal because I keep reopening them by picking at them with my fingers or other means. Not sure yet if it's because I've always picked at scabs, or because it's more of an OCD thing, or I like seeing them bleed over and over. Just thought of this today when asked if I cut, which is no, but I still reopened the place I did badly last week.

Yeah I reopen mine quite a lot too. I'm also not sure why I do it but yeah, it's something I do.
Thanks for this!

Stay strong, friend. I'm sorry you have to go through this.

It's been about 4 mos since I SIed, but I was doing it multiple times a day. I like to cut across my burn marks and across other cuts or reopen scars from previous times. Idk why. Good luck to you.

Yes I do, in fact I always try and cut over an old cut so I don't get multiple scars.

*trigger*
When they start to heal, I get a bit sort of panicky and need to make them bleed again. I also cut internally and usually keep at it so it doesn't heal.

Feels like it's something about the healing? If it heals and disappears then so does that pain, and it doesn't get heard as always....

I go over old cuts, too, most of the time for the same reason of not wanting multiple scars.
