Hey everyone. I haven't been here for quite some time. So, today my sister tried cutting herself. I caught her before she could really do anything. I have a feeling that she knows I used to do it too, but she's never confronted me. Anyway, I've been clean for a long time but seeing her there with tears in her eyes and the blade in her hand just triggered me so much. I threw all of mine away but she got one from her razor. I pretended to throw it away but I kept it. I don't know why, I want to feel that stinging feeling again..

Just know that if you do cut again you could relapse, and it could be worse. It may feel tempting but at the same time it's an addiction.

I can't imagine how difficult it must be to have such a strong trigger. I definitely understand the temptation but puzzclar is right - think about what it could mean. You have been extremely strong until now. You can get through this.
Also, is there help you can seek for your sister? Even if you can't personally talk to her about self-harm if its too much of a trigger can you encourage her to reach out to someone? Thinking of you. Please keep posting and checking in when you can. Sometimes just having somewhere to talk can make a big difference. |

I hope you can be available if your sister needs to talk with you. You know where she's at. Ditch the blade, you don't need it.
