I know i'm new here ... and i feel as though i probably haven't been really helpful to anyone ... but i was just wondering if you guys might have some ideas that you wouldn't mind sharing.
You see ... my scars are getting increasingly worse, and i dont know how much more i'm gong to be able to hide from people. Cutting is like a rush ... it makes me feel better, and odly enough when i'm done i'm almost proud of how i've been able to hurt myself (i know i'm discusting ![]() Does anyone have any tips, or things that they do instead when they feel like cutting? I'm sorry for being such a pain, but any feedback would really help. thanks so much Tracy |

Hi Tracy, everybody is different, so I am not sure I can help…What helps me not to cut is to work on issues in therapy. I have to keep my stress level down and deal with things as they come up. For me, cutting is a way to cope with overwhelming emotions. I have to figure out the emotions and deal with them instead of just trying to deal with the cutting itself. When I am taking care of myself, I don’t cut. I try really hard to tell people when I feel like cutting—to talk it out—to get at what I am really feeling. Make any sense?
Oh, and you are not disgusting…most definitely not. You are just struggling right now.
